Aspen Grove

Last week our division went to the Aspen Grove property owned by BYU up behind Timpanogos. Unfortunately the leaves had already changed past their peak but it was still wonderful to get out for an hour or two and enjoy real life. Since the colors were so drab my attention went to other things along the trail.

It had just rained in the morning and luckily the trail wasn't too wet or muddy but it left plenty of evidence behind if you looked carefully.

On the way home, still in the canyon, I saw a hawk sitting on a telephone wire that was just about eye level with my car since the road is raised up so high. I hit the brakes and just missed the entrance to the rest area where I needed to turn off. Nobody was on the road so I went on to the on ramp of the rest area and drove up it the wrong way. (shhh) I walked up as close as I could to Mr. Hawk until he had enough of me and he took off.

Also on the way home, in Salem I saw this wonderful weed growing and made a quick dive to the other side of the road, opened the door, *click*, drove off.
